Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Notification Released! This test score is helpful for to do PG, PHD in Well Known Organisations and job achievement in Public Sector companies.
Based on the GATE score, engineering students can get admission in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy departments at Prestigious IITs, IISC Bangalore, various NITs and reputed engineering colleges. Gate score is the standard for job placements in some public and private companies. Some of these companies are: BHEL, GAIL, HAL, IOCL, NTPC, ONPC, which employ people with better pay and job security. Gate score is also the basis for recruitment of Senior Field Officer (Tele), Senior Research Officer (Crypto), SRO (S&T) at Group A level posts in the Central Government.
The examination is conducted annually under the joint auspices of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Higher Education, IISC, and 7 IITs (Bombay, Delhi Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee). This year hosting is IIT Kanpur.
WHAT IS NEW IN GATE - 2025 :-
GATE-2025 will be conducted in a total of 29 papers. Candidates may appear either in ONE or TWO papers. For candidates who choose TWO papers, the combination must be from the approved list and subject to the availability of infrastructure and date. Students must not write the test on both papers. One or two papers can be selected at will. There are 82 combinations of papers. GATE 2024 Examination will be conducted at specific centres in selected cities and towns in India, and a few cities outside India. GATE 2024 score will remain valid for THREE YEARS from the date of announcement of results for PG admission and one or two years for public sector entities. With this test score can get admission to PG courses in all higher education institutions in our country and also will be paid Rs.12,400 /- Scholarship. - This score is also useful to do PhD admissions, In addition, Rs.28,000 / - Scholarship is also available. There is No age limit to appear for GATE 2024 examination. Applications will be accepted ONLINE only through GATE 2024 website (https://gate.iitk.ac.in). Even if a candidate is appearing for TWO papers, the candidate should fill ONLY ONE application form.
EXAM PATTERN :-
Gate 2025 Exam is online based test. The questionnaire is in a completely objective manner. There are three types of questions (Multiple choice, Multi select Questions and numerical). If the answer is wrong, the marks will be reduced by 1/3 for one mark questions and 2/3 marks for two marks. For Numerical and Multi select questions do not have these negative marks. the examination procedure GATE question paper consists of 65 questions for a total of 100 marks. The duration of the test is three hours.
The questionnaire consists of two sections. Section-1 (General Aptitude): It consists of ten questions. Five one-mark questions, another five two-mark questions. Four to five questions in this section are English related (Verbal Ability) and the rest are Quantitative questions. Good marks will come in this section if you read the daily newspapers and practice past question papers of other competitive exams like CAT.
Section-2 (Relevant Engineering Subjects): Contains 55 questions. It consists of 25 one mark questions and 30 two mark questions. Mathematics: The questions in this section with 10 to 15 marks are not like pure mathematics, Are with engineering application. An important indication is that the questions are aimed at innovations in the respective fields. Each paper has more than ten subjects. But the total questions are 65. How many questions for each subject has become a challenge for IITs. That is why questions of two or three subjects are asked together. Each paper combines different subjects and asks questions. ELIGIBILITY & OPPORTUNITIES
A candidate who is currently studying in 3 or higher years of any undergraduate degree program OR has already completed any government approved degree program in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts, is eligible to take this examination. Qualified GATE score can be used for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to: (i) Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts; and (ii) Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies, subject to fulfilling the admission criteria of the admitting institutes. The GATE score is also used by some colleges and institutions for admitting students without MoE scholarship/assistantship. Further, many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been using GATE score in their recruitment process. Candidates with BDS, BVSc and BSc (Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry) degrees can write GATE 2025.
HOW TO PREPARE ?
The GATE-2025 exam will be held in the month of February. That is about 6 months time. Candidates should take a thorough look at the syllabus and understand its ontents. Understand what issues you are at strong and plan accordingly. Due to the limited time available, at least 10-12 hours a day should be allotted to preparation. 50% of the time should focus on the numerical questions that correspond to the pattern of questions. Standard Text books and Choosing study material is very important. It is not better to read all type books. If you already start preparation, you will have some mastery of the basics. Be prepared for these elements as well as the harder ones. Complex, simple, Even commonalities should be given equal priority.
Gate is conducting in Online and it is being designed as different sets. This made all the subjects preferred. Therefore, appropriate consideration should be given to all aspects of preparation. Whenever the preparation starts Decide whether to take coaching or not depending on by candidate. Taking coaching is provides correct guidance. Select offline classes available if coaching is required. If you are trying to write an old question paper for the exam it is easy to understand what level you are in. Each subject, each chapter's topics, and small tables Should be made brief. Must write tests. Mock tests should be written after completion of preparation. Chapter wise, subject wise and complete mock tests should be attempt and every incorrectly written answer should be practiced carefully. Those mistakes will not be repeated during the exam. GATE, ESE, ISRO, PSU question papers should be written.
Strategy plan for the top rank in GATE-2025.
1.The preparation should be completed quickly and repeated as many times as possible.
2. Do not be disappointed if you do not complete any subject by the time of the exam. Already read chapters need to be revisited. Must be reasonably confident.
3. Do not lose motivation under any circumstances from the start of preparation until the time of the test.
4. Mind management and time management are the secrets of success.
5. Do not go for unanswered questions as there are negative marks.
6. Doubts encountered while reading should be salvaged immediately.
7. Do not take too much time to get an answer and do not waste time at favourite questions. Easy questions should be completed first.
8. Solved, unsolved questions in the textbook, should be practiced. Learn as much as possible about online test and virtual calculator and practice.
